ALICE IN WONDERLAND
Adapted by Catherine Bush from the children's book by Lewis Carroll
Image Coming Soon
It's Lorina's birthday, and her younger sister Alice is upset because she doesn't have a gift for her. Then Lorina hands Alice a blank book and suggests that the wildly imaginative Alice write her a story. Alice isn't sure how to start - until a wily White Rabbit steals her book and leads her down a rabbit hole into a Wonderland full of wildly eccentric characters including a grinning Cheshire Cat, a wise old Caterpillar, an overprotective Pigeon, a Mad Hatter, his equally mad sidekick the March Hare, and a very angry Queen of Hearts. This inventive and magical adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic will take your elementary-aged students on an amazing journey through Wonderland sure to inspire their creativity, imagination, and enthusiasm for reading.
"Fabulous! A real crowd pleaser for the students and teachers, and we love not having to deal with a bus and transporting students!"
- Liberty Elementary Teacher
"Seeing a book on-stage reaches all types of learners and inspires them to read.
Not a single child wasn't engaged with the play. I love that the actors came out into the audience and got the kids excited over reading and performing arts."
- Clemson Elementary Teacher
Since 2000, Greenville Theatre on Tour has inspired over 200,000 elementary students through the magic of live theatre. GT on Tour brings shows directly to your school, eliminating the need for field trip details and buses. GT on Tour performances are tailored for students from Kindergarten to fifth grade. Each production has a cast of professional actors, scenery, and costumes that are performed in your gym, multipurpose room, and yes, even your cafeteria!
Following the performance, the actors hold a 'talk back' session with the students, allowing the children to ask any questions they may have about the show or the actors. GT on Tour selects shows from school reading lists, and to help integrate our performance into the classroom, we provide a study guide created by a curriculum expert according to Common Core standards!
GT on Tour Productions of Miss Nelson Is Missing (2019-20), Junie B. Jones Is Not A Crook (2018-19), and Charlotte's Web (2017-19).
