TREASURE ISLAND

A New Musical Adaptation by Carter Allen

TreasureIsland-11x17.jpg

This coming school year, we will be performing an original musical adaptation of Treasure Island.  This exciting adventure story is based on the classic novel of the same name by Robert Louis Stevenson. Join Jim Hawkins as he battles pirates, sails across the sea, and searches for buried treasure. Characters like Long John Silver, Billy Bones, and the shipwrecked Ben Gunn will take your k-5 students on an adventure they will not soon forget. With original arrangements of traditional sea shanties, this show is guaranteed to capture the imagination of audiences of all ages.

"Fabulous! A real crowd pleaser for the students and teachers, and we love not   having to deal with a bus and transporting students!"

                                                                            - Liberty Elementary Teacher

"Seeing a book on-stage reaches all types of learners and inspires them to read.

Not a single child wasn't engaged with the play. I love that the actors came out     into the audience and got the kids excited over reading and performing arts."

                                                                           - Clemson Elementary Teacher

Since 2000, Greenville Theatre on Tour has inspired over 200,000 elementary students through the magic of live theatre. GT on Tour brings shows directly to your school, eliminating the need for field trip details and buses. GT on Tour performances are tailored for students from Kindergarten to fifth grade. Each production has a cast of professional actors, scenery, and costumes that are performed in your gym, multipurpose room, and yes, even your cafeteria!

Following the performance, the actors hold a 'talk back' session with the students, allowing the children to ask any questions they may have about the show or the actors.  GT on Tour selects shows from school reading lists, and to help integrate our performance into the classroom, we provide a study guide created by a curriculum expert according to Common Core standards!

GT on Tour Productions of Miss Nelson Is Missing (2019-20), Junie B. Jones Is Not A Crook (2018-19), and Charlotte's Web (2017-18).
